Auszug aus einem Interview nach dem Sieg gegen Mario Ancic:

Obviously this would build great confidence for the rest of the Hopman Cup. Starting here with a win against a big name player, what kind of confidence does that give you for the rest of the Australian summer?

(Robredo) It gives me a lot of confidence. Finishing seven in the world and going to the Masters for the first time, I have to say I’m pretty confident in myself. And starting with a victory is always nice because it is. I just need to keep focus and keep going on my great level and hopefully I can keep playing like this all year.

Der erste Sieg im ersten Match in 2007 wie auch die Teilnahme am Masters Cup in Shanghai im November haben ihm also einiges an Selbstvertrauen gegeben und er hofft, diese Form auch in der neuen Saison halten zu können.
